Alexander succeeded the IML with a strong but pleasant portion of Bavarian tradition. The enthusiastic Sch(w)uhplattler (gay shoe-slap-dancer) entered the stage in leather and with a whip \u2013 however, contrary to common fetish notions, in traditional Bavarian leather and with a traditional whip, the so called Goa\u00dflschnalzer. He never put his love for his homeland in question at national and international events.

Since there was no Bavarian Mister election in the two subsequent years, Robert indirectly had the longest tenure as BMrL.

His mix of Leather, Rubber and Sportswear causes a stir, but it is deliberately chosen: Max doesn’t want to be put in a pigeonhole, and he\u2019s open for all (fetishes).

“Prevent”, “give notice”, “accept help”. This was Thorsten’s slogan for a big anti-violence project that wanted to show that even “hard men” can become a victim of anti-gay violence. Furthermore he is co-initiator of the alliance for solidarity facing hostility against gay, lesbian and transgender people. We won’t forget his unheard-of appearance at the Br\u00e4urosl beer hall during the Oktoberfest meeting. Due to his engagement, Munich’s mayor Ude visited us on our balcony in the beer hall.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

\nBavarian Mr. Leather 2011<\/h4>\n
\n

The teddy bear was his trademark – he accompanied Lutz on all his travels and even to Chicago,\u00a0He made a respectable 7th place at the\u00a0International Mr. Leather Contest and made it into the “top ten” worldwide.\u00a0During his year of duty, Lutz gave the Bavarian leather and fetish scene a face and a voice and has been a very welcome guest everywhere with his likeable and open way. None of our BMrL grew so much with his challenges as he did. Until his election, he has been a rather inconspicious member of the fetish community – but during his year of duty (and beyond) he\u00a0became a shining example for the community.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

He was\u00a0our youngest titular ever. He used this\u00a0“privilege” to take care of the younger part of the community\u00a0and\u00a0inspired them fetish-wise. It has been very important for him to meet people – be it at one of the many fetish meetings or one of the CSD’s nation-wide. During his one-year term he grew as a personality and one could tell that he was enjoying his duties.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

His appearance on stage at the Oberangertheater was full of musicality, irony and always true to his motto “Show your face”. It was his utmost concern to\u00a0keep in touch and to keep talking with each other. This is why\u00a0he\u00a0has always been in close contact\u00a0with heterosexual associations and educational groups at schools. He\u00a0has been\u00a0the face of our fetish scene at political\u00a0events at the Bavarian Parliament and political conventions. And he personally took part as “leather man”\u00a0in the opening of Jean-Paul Gaultiers exhibition. Despite the diversity and broad opinions in the scene, Andreas’ message has always been: We are ONE community that has to stand together closely as only together we can shape our future.<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

“Only together we are strong” – this was the motto of Werner’s year of duty.\u00a0Inspired by taking part in many events – as the CSD in Warsaw, the May Queen election in Munich or the IML election in Chicago\u00a0– he saw himself as a bridge builder for the community that in his eyes requires solidarity “more than ever”. Also building bridges for the younger generation was important to him. This is why he launched the first “Fetish Information Evening” at “diversity”, the Munich gay-lesbian youth center.<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Fetish meetings, “Mister” elections, CSD’s… Manfred has been traveling a lot during his term and\u00a0represented the community on many occasions, being the face of the community.\u00a0As Manfred lives in the\u00a0northern\u00a0part of Bavaria, the Frankonians got to see him more often. This empowered him to also strengthen the connections\u00a0outside of just\u00a0the Munich metropolian area and southern Bavaria.<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Born in Munich, Robert used his term as an opportunity to go public and on many occasions to represent leather and other fetish. A crazy “Ride of a Lifetime”, as he says himself. “It was challenging, made me overcome my own limitations, changed me, opened many doors and finally – yes, it was great fun”<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

#proudofyourfetish was the motto of Stefan’s year in office. He is co-founder of this movement in the fetish community and has provided visibility of fetish on CSD stages, on the street and also in the social media. The universally cheerful Franconian has built bridges in the community and strengthened existing connections. It is also thanks to his commitment that Nuremberg now also has a Fetish Pub Crawl. #proudofyourfetish even outside the metropolises.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

\nBavarian Mr. Leather 2020+2021<\/h4>\n
\n

Despite the Corona pandemic, benji made good use of his barely two-and-a-half-year tenure. After an enforced redisposition to a majority online presence, he was able to gradually regain an outdoor presence. He tried to be visible at every event that came up and to fight for his motto: “Be yourself – live your fetish!”. He got around a lot and was not only in Bavaria, but also in Berlin, Hamburg and Paris. A highlight at the end of the term was the occupancy of the 15th place at the 44th International Mister Leather Contest in Chicago.
\nHe will continue to work for the inclusion of all fetishes and against fetish-shaming within the community.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

BMrL 2022+2023<\/div>

\nBavarian Mr. Leather 2022+2023<\/h4>\n
\n

Eddy was elected in June 2022 and his term was extended in March 2023 until March 2024. Known for his commitment to the fetish counter at Sub, he campaigned for 21 months for the visibility and an open, diverse and friendly appearance of Bavaria’s fetish and leather scene. He was happy to support charitable organizations, such as the Munich AIDS-Hilfe, or projects such as the queer action plan of Bavaria. However, the main focus of his time in office was the nationwide and Europe-wide networking of fetish associations, building bridges to queer, especially lesbian and drag queen, communities and supporting local CSDs in Bavaria and the surrounding area. He will always be remembered for his secret weapon: a smile, which he always generously gave to everyone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

As Bavarian Mister Leather, it was my job to represent the leather and fetish community. However, as Mister, I also saw myself as a representative and contact person for the entire queer community in Bavaria. As the 19th BMrL in 2024, I naturally followed in the footsteps of my 18 predecessors, whose projects I was happy to continue as part of our cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

In the 50th anniversary year of the MLC, I represented our fetish community worldwide.
